We have a new bag making kit in our New Arrivals . It is the Noodlehead Sandhills sling ! I’m a huge dan of this bag . It is a great size , not too big, not too small . It has an outside pocket with a zip & an inside pocket with optional elastic . It has one strap and can be worn to the front or the back . I wear mine to my front mostly and find it do easy to get everything into snd out if it . It is my fav bag to bring on holidays , lots of room for my passport , wallet , sunglasses and a bottle of water ! We have curated 8 versions for our kits . This has been an incredibly popular pattern for us so we have made our kits available with or without the paper pattern . Included in the kit is my sewalong on YouTube . I will keep you company whilst sewing your sandhill .. & I pass on a few tips I have gathered when making mine!

Waiting for Springtime 🌼 I’m snuggly in my new @atelierjupe Julia sweater . I made it in this cute cosy teddy fabric which is perfect for springtime . It’s giving me all the Neapolitan ice cream vibes ! If Neapolitan ice cream is not your vibe we also have this gorgeous fabric in a camo vibe colourway . I teamed it up with a cotton canvas for the front button placket . To make it extra cosy I cut the placket in two pieces , adding the teddy to the ‘wrong’ side & the canvas as the ‘right’ side . Thus made the Julia even cosier ! If you fancy making your own Julia , I gave a full sewalong on my YouTube channel .

Introducing my Atelier Jupe Lori blouse . I get so excited when I know there are new patterns coming from Petra & Eva & this new collection of patterns is right up my street . So many details on this top sang to me , the dropped sleeve is so cute . It comes to my elbow & is gathered into a wide band . I am a huge fan of the atelier Jupe necklines , I love their round flat collars that just sit down beautifully against your neck , they are so comfy to wear . The boxy shape is so comfy to wear . It’s perfect with another layer underneath for this time of year’s. I am wearing a vest top but you could also wear a long sleeve base layer underneath also . It has a yoke section with two back options . There is a gathered option which is more voluminous or a pleat option which I’ve gone for on my version. I can’t wait to make the dress version for the summer .

The new collection from @atelierjupe launched today . Feast your eyes on these incredible fabrics . There are viscoses & cottons in this collection along with 3 new patterns . Lori is a top & dress . It’s an oversized design with with either a gathered back detail or a pleat . It has a flat collar & a little slit at the neckline . Topping it all off it has a dropped sleeve gathered into a wide band. I’ve made 2 already .. pics soon . Blake are a wide leg trousers with a mid rise waist band and has double pleats at the front . Robyn is a wrap dress . It has a waist cinching band with a gathered skirt . There is a generous overlap on the wrap skirt . It has a grown on sleeve . It’s a great dress with lots of options to dress it up or down . What do you think of the new collection?

We are home from a wonderful visit to H & H in Cologne. I feel full of ideas & so inspired from all we saw . From fabrics to patterns ,haberdashery & gorgeous new products , the show didn’t disappoint. We spent a lovely evening in the company of Petra & Eva @atelierjupe . Happy birthday to Petra today . We also had the pleasure of meeting up with Roisin & Eva @quiltyarnstitch for a fun tapas meal & chat . Thanks Jason for being at my side for the few days . 4 days of looking at fabric & talking about sewing isn’t every man’s cup of tea but he’s my biggest supporter 🩷

There’s an explosion of colour in@our New Arrivals section this week on the website . Blue skies are returning here and there’s a freshness in the air that makes me feel like brighter days are on the way! It might be still cold but I want to dive in and start putting together my summer wardrobe. Feast your eyes on the lovely colour in these fabrics . We gave viscose , cotton voile , cotton satins and gorgeous pontes in this weeks offerings .

I was so happy to find this fabric to recreate my favourite jumper! You know when you make something and it becomes your absolute favourite thing to wear … & you wear it until it’s bobbly & worn out but you still love it . Well that was me with my leopard print & stripey jumper . I couldn’t wear it out in the world as it git do tattered . I’ve searched and searched for another fabric & found this one . Its a ponte called Pebbly , available on my website now. It’s not as similar as I’d like but it’s still turned out pretty well . I’ve also been asked to do a video inserting the band into the atelier Jupe Charlie’s v neck jumper .. So guess what , there’s a little video newly dropped into my YouTube channel today . If like me you like a boat neck top , look no further , I’ve found the perfect one . Aptly called The Boatneck top from @modern_sewing_co it is in my opinion perfection . The neck is perfectly wide enough to get it over your head comfortably but not too wide that it’ll show any under garment straps . It’s high but not chokey high .. it’s Goldilocks porridge .. just right 👌 I made a straight size 12 & it’s super comfy . I added an inch to the length & love it . Mine is made from a gorgeous cotton ribbed fabric we got into the shop in a few colours to try out last year . Needless to say they were super popular so we’ve restocked them in new colours . We now have navy, black, blush, petrol & denim (mine)
